BROKEN ARROW POLICE
CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION

DETECTIVES
Detectives are responsible for conducting criminal and follow-up investigations as well as providing assistance to local, county, state, and federal prosecutors as needed. Detectives/Investigators coordinate investigation efforts with other units in the department as well as with other law enforcement agencies. Members of this unit are subject to call-outs and are often assigned cases based on their assigned crime type: People Crimes, Financial Crimes, Property Crimes, Child Crimes, etc.
DIGITAL EVIDENCE LABORATORY (DEL)
Almost all criminal activity, in one way or another, will at some point produce evidence that is digital in nature. Even criminal activity that has traditionally not had a cyber-connection now regularly involves digital evidence. Email, voicemail, hard drives, digital cameras, and other electronic devices all contain evidence necessary for an investigation and subsequent prosecution.
The Digital Evidence Laboratory (DEL) conducts analyses and extraction of data from cell phones, computers, and other types of digital media and provides the information to those officers or investigators requesting it, sometimes it provides the information to outside agencies.
