TRAINING UNIT
The training staff consists of 5 officers in the unit. Their responsibilities include:

Day to day activities of the academy

Instructing in the academy and continuing education

Servicing and maintaining all the departments weapons.

Coordinating all continuing education

Providing advanced elective courses

Developing training programs
-
Recruiting, testing, and hiring of new officers

Coordinating and caring for the training facilities

Maintaining all training equipment
The Broken Arrow Police Training Unit seeks to enhance the quality of service for our citizens by providing high quality advanced training to our officers. The Training Unit serves in a variety of capacities to our officers and citizens.
The Training Unit is truly the gateway and first stop for a new Broken Arrow Police Officer. Therefore, we consider this assignment extremely important to uphold the BAPD mission, vision, and values and to be an example for our academy recruits.
The Training Unit motto is “Excellence begins here…” In our academy we expect every officer to be excellent in everything they do, and we hold them to that standard.
